Naaman’s
servants went to him and said, “My father, if
the prophet had told you to do some great thing,
would you not have done it? How much more then,
when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’?” So
he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan
seven times, as the man of God had told him, and
his flesh was restored and became clean like
that of a young boy. 2 Kings 5:13-14

Naaman
had a simple choice, dip, or not dip. Sure
there were a lot of other issues such as:
1. Foolishness, thinking that dipping 7
times would cure his leprosy
2. Rationalization, the Jordan River was a
tiny stream compared to rivers back home
3. Pride, it would look silly to be dunked 7
times
But Naaman had a simple choice, dip, or not
dip. Our sin problem may not be as immediate
as Namaan’s leprosy but we also have a
simple choice, believe, or don’t believe.
Sure there are a lot of other issues, but
ultimately those are the only two responses
to the cross.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness
to those who are perishing, but to us who
are being saved it is the power of God.” 1
Cor 1:18
