Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods, or worship the image of gold you have set up." Daniel 3:16-18

Now we're cook'in. Thoughts similar to this had to be running through the mind of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as the door to the fiery furnace was opened and the heat from the oven hit their faces. There were no guarantees. For all they knew their lives were about to end. But they had made their decision. Sometimes the 'right thing' is staring us in the face and there are no other options except to enter the furnace. Suffering might come with the victory, but the outcome is never in doubt, and God will always be with us.
