How rich was Solomon?
1 Kings 10:14&15 - "The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly
was 25 tons, not including the revenues from merchants and traders
and from all the Arabian kings and the govenors of the land."
1 Kings 9:27&28 - "And Hiram sent his men - sailors who knew the sea
- to serve in the fleet with Solomen's men. They sailed to Ophir and
brought back 16 Tons of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon."
1 Kings 10:10 - "And she (Queen of Sheba) gave the king 4.5 tons of
gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones."
If Solomon received all of this gold in the course of one year, (the
Bible doesn't state this), his income for that year would be approximately
46 tons of gold.
