Samson, like our modern day
super-heroes, seemed to have unlimited
strength except for one weakness which
rendered him powerless. But Samson's
strength came not from his hair but from the
vow he kept with God. Had Samson kept this
vow he would not have lost his strength. We
should not enter into, or take, our vows
lightly. All relationships are based on
trust and once that trust is broken it is
not easily mended. How well we keep our word
is the true measure of our character. Better
to make one vow and keep it than to make ten
vows and keep nine.
