So he (Joseph) asked Pharoah's officials who were in custody with him in his master's house, "Why are your faces so sad today?" Bad news makes the Good News great. Not every message from the mouth of God is necessarily up-lifting and encouraging. In fact, you can't hear the Good News until you've heard the bad news first. The bad news is that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Simply put, our own willful sinfulness has separated us from our loving creator. The Good News is that God sent His son into the world to die for our sins. We can be forgiven. The bad news makes the Good News great.
